Whether she’s in the arena or in a therapeutic setting, Renae creates a space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow.

Blending evidence-based counselling approaches with her skills as a horse riding coach, she translates complex emotions into practical, meaningful progress—both on the ground and in the saddle. Building rapport isn’t a technique for her—it’s second nature. With a lifelong love of animals (and a soft spot for anything with hooves 🐴), she brings warmth, calm, and a touch of humour into every interaction.

Mel brings an incredible combination of equine knowledge, aged care experience, disability support, hospitality leadership, and genuine compassion to the team.

With a strong background across equine-assisted services, aged care, dementia support, disability, hospitality management, and horse industry operations, Mel has developed a unique skillset that allows her to connect with people from all walks of life.

Mel is currently working with Hooves of Hope and Sirian Star Enterprises as a Therapy Assistant, Support Worker, and Manager, where she helps facilitate equine-assisted programs designed to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, healing, confidence, and trust. She works closely with clients, horses, families, educators, therapists, and community partners to deliver holistic and person-centred support.
